Chess House with Jacuzzi & Private Veranda – Imerovigli – Santorini
The Chess House is a traditional Santorini home. Peace, quiet and incredible views are what it is about. In renovating, we have kept the setup of the house as it was in the old days when the family usually included 3 generations living together. The rock against which it is built will protect you and create a cool atmosphere inside, while you enjoy the sun outside. Pull yourself away from the crowds, and rejoin when you feel like it.

The Chess House is a traditional Santorini home. In renovating, we have kept the setup of the house as it was in the old days when the family usually included 3 generations living together. The house has been renovated in 2023, adding a Jacuzzi in the perimeter of the house and enlarging the bathrooms and the kitchen area.
The living room & kitchen area consumes most of the internal area.
There is one private bedroom which was of the eldest couple in the family (usually grandparents), and there is a large space which includes an elevated double bed and two single beds in what we would call today a large living room and kitchen area.
The house is built into the rock in the back, and it opens out to the sea in front.
There are two private outside areas one can choose from to savor the view. One, which is larger, is adjacent to the house where one can spend the day or evening enjoying the sun using the sunbeds or having a quiet time in the shade at the table outside. The second is a Veranda across from the path outside, right on the cliff, with sunbeds, a private table and a sun umbrella. Whatever time you decide to spend there, it will be as close to the sea and the volcano of Santorini as you can get! The house is best for families, or for a couple who do not mind having ample space. One bedroom has absolute privacy, with its private bathroom as well. The other sleeping areas are common with two single beds on one side of the huge living room and an elevated double bed. There is also a built-in Sofa in the living room where one or two additional people can sleep with comfort. A second full bathroom is on the one side for your convenience. Hot and Cold air-conditioning is available throughout, and keeps the house at the right temperature all year round! The living room and kitchen are blended together. On one side, there is a kitchen complete with two burners, a microwave oven, coffee makers (American, Espresso or instant), a boiler and various pans for use. The main living room area is setup with a TV, and a large couch to enjoy an evening when the weather is not as hot.

Imerovigli - Santorini
Imerovigli is known mostly for it’s landscape, described as “The Aegean Balcony”, situated on the central and tallest part of the Caldera, offering one of the best views on the island. The area is full of small stores and restaurants during the season (April to November) and is more peaceful in the low season (December– March). A 20 minute drive or 2 hours of trekking to the west can take you to the beautiful village of Oia where people gather in the evening to watch the sunset, dine or walk through the multitude of stores. A 5 minute drive or a 25 minute walk to the East will take you to Fira, the place to be for bars, clubs, action, and shopping, as well as different choices of food ranging from the most sophisticated chefs to the more traditional taverns. Half way between Imerovigli and Fira you will go through Firostefani, where you will find more choices of restaurants and local stores. The Airport as well as the black beaches of Santorini are a 20-30 minute drive to the other side of the island, and the port is about 20 minutes away.
